2016 Australian Women Writers Challenge- it's a wrap!

2016 was a good year for reading books by Australian Women authors jumping to 25 reads from 14 reads in 2015.

This makes 20% of books read were written by Australian Women.

Being a member of the Romance Writers of Australia and associated groups, I tend to read more by women authors more than men anyway. Writing friends and acquaintances release books all the time - almost all of who are women - and I like to support when I can.

Because of have such a backlog of books of these books, I have been concentrating on them.  I do want to expand this at some stage but this may not be the year for it.


All the books I read for the challenge in 2016 were exceptional. These are talented authors and I look forward to reading more from all of them.

Most were with romance or romantic elements (no surprise there!) with the majority being paranormal romance/urban fantasy/fantasy.

15 books were part of a series/continuation with most having the next instalment waiting oh-so-patiently on my TBR pile for 2017.
